UConn International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) seeks student Orientation Representatives to assist with ISSS Orientation and Welcome Program Activities for Spring 2022, which will take place starting Thursday, January 13, 2022 and run through Sunday, January 16, 2022 on the Storrs campus. ISSS orientation and welcome activities are an important experience that helps students transition to UConn and learn about the necessary information to navigate this new place. The ideal candidate will have experience living, working, or studying abroad or other cross-cultural experience, and will be comfortable engaging international students in conversation, leading ice-breakers, providing campus tours, and assisting with presentations throughout the day of orientation to help students in their adjustment to campus. Orientation Representatives must be available for the entire in-person ISSS Welcome Program and Orientation on Friday, January 14, 2022 and must be current Storrs Campus Students in good standing, to apply. Orientation leaders will also need to be available for some but not all additional duties, including: supporting ISSS with new student early move-in to the residence halls on January 13, leading campus tours and supporting international student welcome program on January 14, chaperoning shopping trips January 13 and 15, and assisting with a New Student Welcome at the UConn Ice Skating Rink on January 16. |
