Fellowship Posting: Social Media Fellow
Expected commitment: 5+ hours/week minimum (10+ hours/week preferred); flexible schedule
Muad Hrezi for U.S. Congress seeks energetic college student with strong writing and communication skills to help manage, strategize, and draft content for campaign social media accounts, including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
This position offers a great hands-on learning experience for students interested in campaign or social media marketing work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in pitching, drafting, and posting content across all campaign social media platforms.
• Directly engage with followers, replying to tweets or DMs where necessary.
• Join weekly communications team strategy meetings and help brainstorm creative avenues
for growth, larger reach, and increased engagement.
Qualifications:
• Experience developing social media content, editing copy and engaging with followers is
preferred, but not required.
• Strong spelling, grammar, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and switch between strategic thinking
and granular details.
• Ability to critically consider and analyze social media content for potential pitfalls and
backlash.
• Ability to make revisions based on critical feedback.
• Passion for and understanding of social media and willingness to learn new skills.
• Understanding of progressive politics and passion for making a difference through politics.
