Experiential Global Learning (EGL) - Administrative Assistant
Position Description
Experiential Global Learning (formerly Education Abroad) seeks a Marketing & Media Technology Assistant.
The main duties and responsibilities will include modernizing and re-branding the Experiential Global Learning website, creating eye-catching graphics and content for the website and other marketing materials, and assisting with various office projects.
Responsibilities
Modernize, re-brand, and update the Experiential Global Learning WordPress website
Assist with re-branding and updating program brochures
Help curate promotional materials for programs, information sessions, events, etc.
Assist with the creation of Social Media posts and content
Collaborate with EGL Advisors on updating Major/Minor Advising Pages (MAPs) with content and graphics
Maintain an expert understanding of Experiential Global Learning’s marketing strategy
Manage and maintain the Experiential Global Learning photo library
Support the Experiential Global Learning staff with various projects including captioning videos and updating PowerPoint presentations
Assist with representing Experiential Global Learning at various events including class presentations, open houses, and information sessions as needed
Maintain an expert understanding of the university confidentiality policy
Other duties as assigned
Eligibility
Open to all students with a second-year/sophomore standing or higher at the start of Fall 2021
Students who have participated in a study abroad program strongly preferred
Applicants must be available to begin work over the summer
Students must have demonstrated graphic/digital media and design ability
Students must have demonstrated ability in software such as WordPress, Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, etc.), and Canva
Students must have access to a strong internet connection and a computer during their working hours as they will be working remotely throughout the summer
With their application, prospective students should provide a portfolio of selected graphic design or website design work and submit two letters of recommendation.
Compensation
Experiential Global Learning will compensate the student worker at $15 per hour
Hours and Term
The student should be available to begin work over the summer. The hours of the position will be up to 35 hours per week over the summer, and 10-15 hours per week during the semester. The successful candidate should commit to working with Experiential Global Learning for a minimum of one year.
Start Date
The student should be available to begin work in Experiential Global Learning starting in May 2021 through the summer. The position will be fully remote throughout the summer with the potential for some in-person work hours during the fall semester if conditions allow.
Supervision
The student will report directly to the Administrative Coordinator in Experiential Global Learning.
