  • Summer Media Intern - CT State Golf Association

    Position:  CSGA Media Intern
    Position Time-Frame:  May 15 - August 31, 2021

    The Connecticut State Golf Association (CSGA) is in search of a for-credit Media Intern for the
    summer of 2021. The CSGA Media Intern will be responsible for the video filming of tournament
    play and player interviews from tournament sites, assisting in posting to social media,
    photography, and occasionally providing written content for csgalinks.org.

    Responsibilities:
    ● Attend all CSGA tournaments
    ● Film and produce CSGA tournament highlight videos to be used on social media
    platforms and csgalinks.org
    ● Write scripts for video voice-overs
    ● Film and produce on-site tournament interviews
    ● Film and produce feature videos about the events and people involved with the CSGA
    ● Assist in managing CSGA social media platforms during tournament play (Instagram,
    Facebook, Twitter)
    ● Photography of tournament action
    ● Occasionally write recap articles from tournaments throughout the season
    ● Other duties as assigned

    Requirements:
    ● Experience filming and editing video
    ● Knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter
    ● Some experience interviewing and writing
    ● Photography experience
    ● Ability to work long hours
    ● Work individually and also as a member of a team
    ● Willingness to learn, be flexible, react quickly
    ● Be able to travel throughout the state of Connecticut for various events
    ● Some knowledge of golf and etiquettes of the game

    About the Connecticut State Golf Association (CSGA)
    The Connecticut State Golf Association (CSGA) functions as an extension of the USGA and
    provides stewardship for amateur golf in Connecticut. Founded in 1899, it is the country’s oldest
    state golf association and conducts over 60 Championships, Qualifiers, and One-Day
    Tournaments throughout the year, in addition to administering handicaps for over 40,000
    members and 181 member clubs. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the CSGA supports a
    variety of golf organizations within Connecticut, including the Connecticut Women’s Golf
    Association, Southern New England Women’s Golf Association, The First Tee, the Connecticut
    PGA, and the CSGA Scholarship Fund in Honor of Widdy Neale.

    Supervisors:
    Overseeing the CSGA Media Intern position will be Executive Director Mike Moraghan, awardwinning
    golf journalist; Director of Communications, Bob Carney; and, Assistant Director of
    Operations, Sam Dostaler.
