Wondering if you can place a course on pass-fail grading this Fall 2020 semester?
The restrictions for placing courses on P/F grading are not the same as they were in Spring 2020.
For Fall 2020, the DEADLINE has been extended to NOV 20, if students wish to place a course on pass-fail; or, to cancel P/F grading and revert a course back to letter grading.
Some restrictions have been lifted, to ALLOW the following student populations to use P/F grading:
- Students with fewer than 24 credits (First-year)
- Students on scholastic probation
The following restrictions REMAIN:
- Courses on P/F grading CANNOT be used to satisfy General Education, Major, Related, and Minor requirements (i.e. courses on P/F may be used ONLY for elective credits, satisfying the 45 credit rule or 120 credit minimum)
- P/F grading may only be used on a maximum of 12 credits to be distributed over not more than three courses within a student's plan of study
