Students do not need to be members of Phi Beta Kappa to apply!
Do you know an student who's interested in public service as a career? Phi Beta Kappa is again accepting applications for the Key into Public Service undergraduate scholarship. This prestigious award is open to students planning to graduate between 12/1/2026 and 8/1/2028 who are majoring in arts, humanities, mathematics, natural sciences, and social sciences.
20 undergraduates who are interested in careers in local, state or federal government will be chosen from among around 800 applicants to receive $7600 toward their education. Recipients of the reward will also attend an all-expenses-paid conference during which they'll be introduced to leaders in public service.
Several UConn students have received this prestigious award in recent years, including current Economics and Environmental Science major Andy Zhang - so please pass this information along if you know of any students who match the criteria!
More details including application requirements are at pbk.org/programs/keyintopublicservice. Applications are due Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
