Welcome back! I hope your Fall 2025 semester is off to a good start.
My name is Fyiane (Fee- AH- Knee) Nsilo – Swai, and I am the Research Service Librarian for the Social Sciences at the University of Connecticut. I am delighted to serve as your library liaison to the Political Science Department. I have already had the pleasure of working with several faculty members, graduate students, and many undergraduate students in your department.
As your UConn library liaison, I am here to assist you in navigating our information resources and connect you to the UConn library workflows, policies, and people in various library departments.
My office is located on the first floor of the UConn Homer Babbidge Library, Rm 1108. I work on campus Tuesday – Thursday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, remotely on Monday & Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. With advanced notice, I am available to be on campus to meet in person as needed. The best way to reach me is via email: fnsiloswai@uconn.edu
Below is a sample list of services and resources the UConn library offers.
Scan on Demand
Scan on Demand allows you to request scanning and electronic delivery of chapters and articles from print resources that are not available online. This service is available to all UConn faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students. I am here to help connect you with this service.
Custom OR Collaborated Library Research Guide
The UConn Library Webpage houses numerous Library Research Guides that are available 24/7. Visit the Political Science Subject page.
Research Consultation
Research Consultation appointments are available Monday – Friday and can be “one one-on-one sessions” or small group meetings. Each session typically lasts one hour but can be extended upon request. Consultations can be conducted online or in person.
Students are welcome to schedule as many sessions as needed, leading up to their assignment deadline. Students can contact me via email at fnsiloswai@uconn.edu to schedule a research consultation.
