Jobs & Volunteer Positions

  • Writing Center Hiring Tutors

Join the Writing Center Staff! (It’s probably the best job on campus!) Applications are now open for tutoring positions that begin in Fall 2025. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply. This year, we are particularly interested in applicants from STEM fields and applicants who are multilingual. Typical commitment is 6-8 hours a week, at $17/hr. The strongest applicants will be reflective, intellectually curious writers and engaged collaborators. You don’t need to think you’re a perfect writer—just a thoughtful one who listens well and is interested in others’ work. Do you think carefully about how to communicate complex information in a way that people can understand? Do you like helping other people do it, too? Then this job is for you.

For a full description and the online application, please go to writingcenter.uconn.edu/working-at-the-writing-center/. The deadline is 5pm, Friday March 14th. Feel free to stop by the Center (Library, 2nd Floor) with any questions!
