  • Tutor UConn Students Through Knack

There’s a tutoring app currently being used on campus called Knack, which is run through the CAPS office (the Center for Access and Postsecondary Success). The app provides students in the program with free, unlimited tutoring, and while right now it's only offered to CAPS students, CAPS is looking for any students interested in becoming tutors!

    The details:

    • Pay: $16 per hour
    • Schedule: You can work whenever it fits your schedule—there’s no limit to the hours you can work!
    • Signing up: It’s easy to get started. Simply sign in with your UConn NetID, upload your most recent unofficial transcript, and once everything is verified, you’ll be set up as a tutor.
    • Training: There’s a quick online, asynchronous training (about 2 hours) that you’ll need to complete, but don’t worry—you’ll be paid for the time you spend on it, just like regular tutoring hours.

Right now, CAPS is looking for tutors in the following subjects:

    • Math
    • Statistics
    • Economics
    • Biology
    • Communications
    • Geography
    • HDFS
    • MCB
    • Philosophy
    • Physics
    • Political Science
    • Psychological Sciences
    • Nutritional Sciences
    • Language courses (Spanish, French, German, etc.)

If there’s a course you’ve taken (even outside your major or focus area) in which you earned a B+ or higher, feel free to sign up to tutor it as well! We’re looking for a variety of subjects, so please do not hesitate to check if there’s something you’re qualified to help with. If there are courses that aren't listed above that you would love to list on the app in case students need help, please do so! The more the better.

If you're interested or have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Alexis Rodriguez in the CAPS office, his email is alexis.j.rodriguez@uconn.edu
