This course is about viruses, their evolution and genomes. It's been described as providing an easy introduction to viruses, modern genomics, and it includes discussions of epidemics and phage therapy. The course is open to first year and non-science students, and it meets the GenEd CA3 Science and Technology Lab Course Requirement. The professor welcomes students from non-biology majors.
Its also been described as a supportive class in which students contribute to real world knowledge.
