Winter Intersession – ENGL 2407-026: The Short Story (with Creative Writing component)
A new section of ENGL 2407 has just been added to the Winter Intersession schedule. Spend three weeks reading short stories and learning about the short-story genre by engaging in Creative Writing exercises. Discover how dialogue works by imitating Hemingway. Help Chekhov write an ending for one of his stories. Let Poe teach you about writing horror. Learn from Angela Carter how to reimagine fairytales. Assignments include discussions, exercises, and the final project, for which you can choose to create a multimedia presentation or write your own original short story. No previous creative writing experience is necessary.
