This course is currently open to First Years and Sophomores. However, if the seats do not fill up, they'll look into opening the seats up for Juniors and Seniors as well.
The course description is:
Foundational principles and societal impacts of data science, exposing students to what data science can do and informing them about the knowledge needed for further study. Students will develop essential skills in data/computer/programming literacy, basic statistical analysis, and visualization while exploring real-world data science issues, preparing them for future studies and careers in data-driven workforce.
The learning objectives are:
Develop a foundational understanding of data science principles and their societal implications. Gain proficiency in data wrangling, analysis, visualization, and basic programming. Cultivate data/computer/programming literacy to support further study in data science. Analyze real-world issues through data-driven approaches. Prepare for advanced studies and careers by understanding the skills and knowledge required in data science.
