  • NextGen Elections, Poll Moderator Positions

     

    • Time commitment:
      • Complete online (asynchronous) poll worker training (~4 hours)
      • Attend virtual Moderator class on Wednesday 10/9, 5:30-9:30 pm (~3-4 hours)
      • Work a total of 20 hours at a voting location during early voting/election day (October 21 – November 5) for the general election
      • Attend post-election convening in January 2025 (date TBA).
    • Compensation: Participants are paid for training (total of $144), as well as $18/hour for the 20 hours of election work. Transportation to and from election work and the January convening can also be reimbursed (either mileage if they drive, or cost of public transportation/rideshare).
    • Requirements: Students must be a U.S. citizen, eligible to work in the U.S., and registered to vote in CT.
    • Location: Participants are matched with a town for election work based on town needs and geography (we will do our best to pair students with a location close to where they live).
    • Support: Each participant will have an experienced Registrar of Voters serving as their mentor through election day to answer questions and provide support.
