  • What You Need to Do to Prepare for Registration

    1. View your enrollment appointment time.
    2. Note the difference between your winter enrollment appointment time and your spring enrollment appointment time.
      1. Everyone can start registering for winter courses on Oct. 21.
      2. Only people with the highest number of completed credits will be able to enroll in spring courses on Oct. 21.
    3. Check your holds regularly.
      1. Get these taken care of before your enrollment appointment time.
      2. If you have an ENR hold that says “Enrollment Restricted”, “Advising Required” this was not placed by POLS and we can’t lift it. It was placed either by your other major, or the major you left when you declared POLS. Contact them to get it lifted.
      3. If you have an EOD hold that says “Enrl Rest, only drops allowed”, “Scholastic Standing Hold (SSH)” you need to meet with an academic success advisor in the CLAS Academic Services Center, who you can make an appointment with by calling 860-486-2822. No one in POLS can have this meeting with you.
    4. Make an appointment with your advisor, if you want to. You don’t have to. Schedule this well before your enrollment appointment time, the sooner the better, because appointment slots will fill up and schedules will be too full to add more appointments!
      1. Your faculty advisor may not be on Nexus. If you don’t see them there, you need to e-mail them to set up an appointment.
    5. Don’t use walk-ins as a chance to talk about registration. Walk-ins are for very quick questions, not a discussion about what you’re going to register for.
