Green Corps is a one-year, paid training program for environmental organizers. We have more than 400 alumni using the skills they learned with Green Corps in their current roles as executive directors, organizing directors, and communications directors at leading environmental nonprofits. We provide a unique opportunity for young professionals to learn skills and gain experience needed to launch their careers in the environmental movement. In the words of two of our graduates:
"If there’s anything I’ve learned over the past 25 years, it is that we need more people who are trained in the art and science of organizing public support to effect change. There are many opportunities to learn but the best, in my opinion, is Green Corps." - Bernadette Del Chiaro, Class of 1998, Executive Director, California Solar & Storage Association
"Without Green Corps, I wouldn't have this behind-the-scenes insight into how you win a campaign — from media to fundraising to political strategy and everything in between. Green Corps gave me the foundation that I needed to go on to lead an organization like Greenpeace." - Phil Radford, Class of 1999, Former Executive Director, Greenpeace USA
Included is an updated job description below for next year’s Organizer program which will run from August 2025-August 2026. I also wanted to highlight that we have a shorter-term opportunity, our Campaigner program, which will run from January-April 2025 and is a great opportunity for recent or December 2024 graduates.
Our early application deadline for the Green Corps programs starting in 2025 is October 15!
