Hi!
I'm Ryan and I'm the Peer Academic Assistant for the Political Science Department! As a senior and someone who has lived in Storrs for the past three years, I hope you'll find Storrs as great of a place to be as I have! In the department, we know that adjusting to a new place can be hard, especially when it's adjusting to a whole new campus. However, the department is committed to making that process as easy as possible for you. In light of this, one of our goals is to make the advising process easy to navigate, and my role as the Peer Academic Assistant is an integral part of this. I work in the POLS office to assist our academic advisor, Dr. Jessamy Hoffmann, and I am available as a secondary advising resource. I am available to answer any questions you may have about the department and basic advising questions! You can drop-in during my walk-in hours in SHH 409, right next to the library, or join virtually on Mondays.
Be sure to check the PoliSci Weekly Brief (or PWB, our weekly newsletter) for all departmental or political science updates. (To see archived issues of the PWB, click here.) For updates on the office, follow us on Facebook (@UConnPOLS), Instagram (@uconn_pols), YouTube (@uconnpoliticalscience), and LinkedIn (UConn Department of Political Science)! Lastly, if you have any questions at all, you can email me at polspaa@uconn.edu on week days during business hours.
On Monday, Sept. 9 I'll be available virtually from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at https://uconn-cmr.webex.com/meet/rmc19005.
On Tuesday, Sept. 10 I'll be starting my regular walk-in schedule for the semester, which is:
