Internships

  • CT Judicial Branch Apps for Fall Open 7/8-7/31

The Connecticut Judicial Branch's application portal for fall internships will be opening on July 8 and will close on July 31.

Here is the link to our portal. In addition to our traditional placements like those in pretrial services, probation and the clerk's offices, we have a few administrative and other placements that we'd like to highlight.

    Centralized Infractions Bureau

The Centralized Infractions Bureau Clerk's Office located in Wethersfield is seeking an intern who will be responsible for a variety of administrative duties. Tasks will include data entry, pulling of files, looking up felony and misdemeanor records and assisting customers at the window.

    Criminal Matters Unit

The Criminal Matters Unit located in Wethersfield is looking for an intern with an interest in criminal matters as well as business and/or political science. This unit is currently undertaking a large quality assurance project that the intern will be integral in completing. This project will improve the productivity, health and welfare of each Geographical Court Clerk's Office. The majority of this project will include reviewing files for data accuracy. Additionally, the intern will be reviewing dockets, assisting with trainings and making site visits. There is also an opportunity to partake in legislative research and review.

    OVS (Central Office)

The Office of Victim Services Central Office located in Wethersfield is looking for an intern to assist with administrative duties including scanning and entering data into a computer management system. The intern will also have the opportunity to shadow court-based victim services advocates in the field.

Also, there are a handful of offices in locations where we don't always have a lot of applicants. Our probation offices in Bridgeport and Norwalk are seeking interns along with the clerk's offices in Stamford and Waterbury. If you have students who you think would be willing to travel to those locations, we always have spots available there (and we do reimburse for mileage).
