    Black Documentary Film Archival Practices: AFRA 3575 Section 001, CRN 10963 (Cross-listed with JOUR 3575, section 001

    Critical and historical examination of Black American archival usage through documentary films and media. Throughout this course, students will sharpen their understanding of non-fiction aesthetics and modes of production by constructing short-form archival-based media. Classes will include screenings, discussions, and media-making focusing on found footage and direct animation. These immersive sessions will guide students through animating, repurposing footage, and disrupting the image.
