At AEI, we provide a variety of educational and professional development opportunities for undergraduates and faculty. This November 16th and 17th, we are hosting a fully funded conference for first generation undergraduate college students. AEI’s American Dream Initiative: First Generation Student Forum is designed to bring first generation undergraduate students to Washington DC to enter into discussions with leading experts and one another about the state of the American Dream today. Themes will include the importance of institutions, upward mobility, social capital, America’s role on the global stage, and opportunity in modern America.
In this all-expenses paid conference beginning Thursday, November 16 – and concluding the evening of Friday, November 17, students will engage with the world of public policy, discuss the America Dream, and have an opportunity to tour the US Capitol. This conference is exclusively for first generation undergraduate college students.
Please feel free to share this opportunity with any first-generation students on your campus who you think would benefit from attending. Students can apply using this link before the application deadline of Saturday, September 30, 2023 by 11:59pm EST. If the student is selected to attend, AEI will cover the cost of flights, other transportation, meals and two nights in a hotel. If a student is unable to cover the cost of travel up front, AEI is happy to book travel for students on a case-by-case basis.
