The Foreign Service Officer Test (FSOT) will take place September 30 – October 7, 2023 . The FSOT is an important part of the US State Department Foreign Service Officer selection process, covering the job knowledge, English expression, and situational judgement necessary to work as an FSO. It also includes an essay. Candidates must be a US citizen on the date they submit the registration package, between 20 and 59 years of age, and available for worldwide assignments, including DC.
