  • TDC-MIT Transportation & Infrastructure Summit NYC

    The Transportation Diversity Council (TDC) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Transportation Graduate Student Group are pleased to announce the 2019 TDC-MIT Transportation and Infrastructure Summit in New York,, NY on Monday, April 15, 2019. This year’s conference features keynote presentations, panel discussions, and technical tours addressing the theme of “Exploring Innovations in Meeting Transportation Challenges.”

     

    Hear experts from regional agencies and companies representing all modes of transportation speak on:

    1. Innovative Approaches to Freight and Passenger Transport
    2. Safety and Resiliency Challenges
    3. Mitigating Transportation Workforce Challenges

    Monday, April 15 will begin with a keynote speech and will conclude with in-depth technical tours of critical transportation infrastructure projects in New York City.     Tours are assigned on a first come, first served basis and fill-up quickly as they are capped at 15-20 students/tour. If you wish to attend one of the technical tours, please send a scan of a U.S.-issued or state-issued government photo ID OR the photo page of your passport to rucha@mit.edu by March 15 for security clearance purposes (international students welcome). More tours will be offered pending confirmation.

    3. New York City Transit Coney Island Rail Yard
    4. Moynihan Station Project (Penn Station Redevelopment)

    We are also pleased to announce that this year’s summit will include a poster session for students, with graduate students especially encouraged to participate. Please indicate on the registration form if you would be interested in presenting a poster and we will follow up with more details.

     

    Admission for students is only $10! We are also pleased to offer accommodations on Sunday night plus student admission for $40 (may require 2-4 person/room, we’ll try to accommodate roommate requests as best we can). Registration is on a first come, first served basis, with a final registration deadline of Monday, April 8, 2019!
