UNR Graduate Program
The University of Nevada is offering PhD and Masters Programs for students interested in graduate studies. The PhD program has a February application deadline, and our Masters programs have an April deadline.
Four things that characterize the PhD program:
1) Small cohort sizes: we graduate 1-2 students a year.
2) A very low student to faculty ratio; faculty size is about 20.
3) Significant quantity and quality in recent hires. New faculty have published in journals such as the European Economic Review, Journal of Economic Theory, ILR Review, Review of Economic Dynamics, Journal of Development Economics, and Energy Economics.
4) An impressive record of placing students into academic jobs. After graduating our first student in 2013 (who just received tenure at Idaho State), we have gone on to graduate another 12 students, all but two of whom are employed at academic institutions.
