Econ 2447 Economics of Sports
Make critical policy and budgeting decisions about D1 sports to Save the University; Draft a championship Fantasy Sports Team; these and more are activities the class will do using fundamental principles of microeconomics. This course applies concepts from principles of microeconomics to the analysis of the business of college and professional sports. Topics covered include: Gender Pay Equity; Compensation of College Athletes in Revenue Generating Sports; Competitive Balance, Salary Caps, and Revenue Sharing; Moneyball; Discrimination; and Title IX.
