Dear Neag School colleagues,
Welcome back! It is wonderful to see the campus so full of life as students, faculty, and staff begin another academic year. I would like to extend a special welcome to a new faculty member joining the Neag School this fall: Steven Hoff, School Psychology programs. An announcement with further details and a full introduction of our new hire will be forthcoming in Neag News.
It was another busy summer at the Neag School, filled with planning; advancing ongoing initiatives; and engaging in outreach to donors and other partners. We also hosted several successful conferences, including the 46th annual Confratute, the 34th annual Postsecondary Disability Training Institute, and the 2024 Modern Modeling Methods Conference. Congratulations to all those who were involved.
I would also like to recognize Del Siegle and his team, who brought the preeminent Wallace Research Symposium on Talent Development to Storrs this summer for the first time. It was a vibrant event, co-hosted with the University of Iowa’s Belin-Blank Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development and bringing together approximately 180 scholars and educators.
The first Neag School Meeting this year is Friday, Sept. 6, in Gentry rooms 142 and 144. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin promptly at 1:30 p.m. Please RSVP to the meeting so we have a headcount for room setup and catering.
As always, if there is anything that the Dean’s Office can do to support your work, please do not hesitate to reach out. Best wishes for a successful 2024-2025!
Best,
Jason G. Irizarry, Ed.D.
