Are you interested in how parenting varies across cultures around the world, and how parenting influences children’s development from infancy to adolescence? If so, the graduate seminar on “Parent-child relations in cross-cultural perspective” (HDFS 5321) could be a great course for you to participate in this coming fall! Through readings and media, we will take a virtual trip around the world and across the U.S., visiting parents and their children at home and in other settings of care and education. There are no pre-requisites for this course, but unless you are a graduate student in HDFS, you will need permission from the instructor. Advanced undergraduates may also apply. The course will meet on Thursdays from 12:30-3:00 in the Family Studies building. For further information, contact Professor Sara Harkness (sara.harkness@uconn.edu).
