Announcements from The Graduate School

  • Doctoral Student Travel Award

    • Spring 2018 Doctoral Student Travel Funding

The Graduate School is pleased to offer travel funding support to a limited number of doctoral students presenting his/her research at national or international meetings/conferences.  The first application cycle for academic year 2017-2018 was designated for fall 2017 travel and is now closed.  The second application cycle, reserved for spring 2018, is now open.

As of January 1, 2018, students who are eligible may apply for a one-time only maximum amount of $750.00 in travel reimbursement funds.  Any surplus funds not used for that travel occurrence will not be carried forward for future use.  No reimbursement is available once a student is awarded their degree.

Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as they know they are planning to travel as funding is limited.

Once the application is complete and signed by the student, student's advisor and department head or his/her designee, the application should be returned to The Graduate School by e-mail (graduatedean@uconn.edu)or in person at The Whetten Graduate Center, second floor, no later than two (2) weeks before travel will occur.  The application will then be reviewed for eligibility and a decision will be e-mailed to the student as well as the student's graduate program coördinator.
