Dear Honors Advisors,
Welcome to our new Honors advisors, and a warm welcome back to those returning!
I hope the semester is off to a good start for you and your students. Thank you for the time and care you dedicate to supporting our Honors students - your guidance is an essential part of their experience.
This semester, the Honors Advisors Digest will be sent on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month while classes are in session. The digest will include important deadlines, information that may be helpful to you as an Honors advisor, and opportunities you can share with your students. If you have events, opportunities, or student achievements you'd like to share with your Honors advising colleagues across UConn's campuses, please send them my way. The most recent issue will always be available at s.uconn.edu/HAD, and an archive of the current and past semesters' issues can be found at honors.uconn.edu/honors-advisor-toolbox/.
This summer, our Honors and Enrichment Programs team welcomed nearly 600 new first-year Honors students at Hartford, Stamford, Storrs, and Waterbury, along with new sophomore and junior Honors students from all of UConn's campuses. Together with our continuing students, this brings our Honors community to over 2700(!) students across UConn's campuses. We look forward to seeing these students thrive under your guidance as they begin or continue their UConn journeys.
For our new Honors advisors, I'm available to meet with you to talk about Honors in your major and answer any questions you may have. I'm also happy to consult on anything you'd like to create or maintain for your Honors students, whether that's an advising manual, a website page, or another resource. As always, we can connect by email, Teams, or in person at Storrs if you have questions about Honors requirements or policies.
Thank you again for your partnership, and I wish you a smooth and rewarding semester ahead!
