Hello Colleagues!
I am writing with an update on the progress of the 2026 Undergraduate SERU survey! I have some good news and some not-as-good news.
First, the good news: The response rate dashboard is now live! In this dashboard, I can track real-time submissions of the SERU survey. We can view response rates by campus, school/college, year standing, the binary gender (M/F) assigned in student admin, and major. Some information is attached.
Now, the not-as-good news: We are trending behind all the other universities for our response rate at this point in our launch. We currently have a 2% response rate across all campuses. The benchmark for all institutions at day 3 is a 4% response rate. High response rates early in the survey launch are a sign of higher response rates over the survey period. So…we have a lot of ground to make up!
How can you help? Below are some ideas borrowed from other UConn Departments:
- Send out more messaging...Emails, flyers, in-person pleas to students you meet!!
- Host a "SERU and Snacks" event: Invite students to come to a common space and provide some snacks while they take the survey.
- Add in your own incentives: Tell students you work with that those who show the "Thank you" email demonstrating they submitted their survey will get a prize/reward.
- Forward this information to your staff/colleagues and ask them to do any/all of the above!

How to access the survey:
Date: Priority deadline is April 23rd. That is the submission date for students to be eligible to be entered into a drawing for an Amazon gift card or a UConn swag bag.
