Resources

  • New Required Modules for PPA Students

    Dear Colleagues,

I’m writing to share an important update from the Office of Pre-Professional Advising regarding our work with Pre-Health and Pre-Law students. Beginning this fall, all students — new and returning — will be required to complete our new Foundations Modules in HuskyCT before they are able to schedule advising appointments.

    About the Modules

    • Pre-Health Students: Foundations for Future Healthcare Professionals: Required Pre-Med, Pre-Dental, and Pre-PA Modules
    • Pre-Law Students: Foundations for Future Legal Professionals: Required Pre-Law Modules

The modules are designed to ensure students have a strong understanding of requirements, resources, and next steps so that they are better prepared for advising conversations and competitive applications.

    Access & Completion

    • Students self-enroll in the modules through HuskyCT.
    • Once complete, students will gain access to our new appointment scheduling link in Nexus, additional helpful resources, and a completion badge in Nexus.
    • Students who already feel confident with the material may fast-forward through videos and complete the knowledge checks to move efficiently through the modules.

    Advising During Add/Drop

Please note that during the add/drop period, our office will only offer drop-in advising for brief (5–10 minute) questions. Drop-in schedules and links are available on our websites.

    Looking Ahead

Later this fall, right before winter break, Pre-Health students applying in the upcoming cycle will also be required to complete an additional set of Application Cycle Orientation modules. We will launch something similar for Pre-Law next year for application modules.

We appreciate your support in sharing this information with students and in reinforcing the importance of completing the Foundations Modules. Our goal is to create a more consistent, equitable, and well-prepared student experience. Thanks for all you do!
