Learning Communities in Cape Town, South Africa
Summer 2015 (4 weeks, mid-May to mid-June)
INFORMATION SESSION
Tuesday, October 7
2:30-4:30 pm (Library Class of 1947)
Come meet Rev. Vernon Rose, a Cape Town native, who places UConn students in internships in Cape Town, South Africa, and Dr. Marita McComiskey, a UConn professor who teaches a 3-credit course you take while there, and students who went on this trip last year to learn about this amazing opportunity!
Dr. McComiskey has been leading Spring and Summer Cape Town programs for 7 years with Rev. Rose with about 200 students participating over that time and not one person has ever regretted their decision to go. Internship opportunities exist in a number of areas that fit many interests and professional goals of students, such as law, education, journalism, health care, social work, politics, radio broadcasting, music education, LGBT and transgender rights, and more.
