  • Seats Available in Core Course "Migrant Workers"

Space to register is still available in Honors Core Course LLAS/HIST 1570 during the Fall 2025 semester.

LLAS/HIST 1570: Migrant Workers is an interdisciplinary, team-taught Honors course that examines the life and work experiences of immigrants and migrants in CT. The course is designed as a series of conversations with experts in immigration, agriculture, health and education who share their work in serving immigrants, and students also visit 2 farms as part of the course.

Grading is based on reflections on assigned readings, “roundtable” presentations, a final exam, and a service learning component that asks students to engage with immigrant communities.  The emphasis is mostly on migrants from Latin America and the Caribbean, although students are invited to make connections to other migratory groups.

The class meets Wednesdays 2:30-5:30 PM in Gentry 101.
