First-Gen UConn students planning to attend law school at Suffolk are eligible for Suffolk Law’s First-Generation College Student Scholarship. This scholarship guarantees a minimum of $20,000 in aid per year to all incoming JD students who (a) are first-generation college graduates and (b) earned their undergraduate degree from your institution. The award is automatically renewable each year a student remains in good academic standing, and no additional application is required.
Suffolk Law created the First-Generation College Student Scholarship to increase access to legal education for talented students who may not qualify for traditional merit-based awards. We recognize that standardized testing and conventional scholarship models can create barriers for students from nontraditional or historically underserved backgrounds, and this program is designed to help reduce those barriers.
