The Dr. Patrick E. Fontane Memorial Scholarship is for graduating pre-medical students who have been accepted for M. D. programs of accredited medical schools in the continental U.S. Applicants must have been undergraduates at UConn for at least two years. Priority will be given to students of UConn Waterbury and students who are from Waterbury, Watertown, or Oakville, Connecticut. Priority also given for students who have worked to finance their education. Students must be current (graduating) students; alumni are not eligible.
Students who are interested in being considered should send an email to clas_scholarships@uconn.edu with an unofficial transcript, evidence of their acceptance into an eligible medical school, and a brief statement (no longer than 300 words) explaining how they meet the criteria and why an award would be meaningful to them. We will be accepting submissions through April 10.
